Dar Series Wireless Transmitter Detectors
The DAR Wireless Transmitter Detectors are discriminated audio receivers designed to detect and locate wireless transmitting devices within strong RF signal areas. In operation, the DAR units have successfully detected eavesdropping signals in urban areas which have large transmitters located nearby. Simpler environments are therefore no problem for these new countermeasures receivers. Their unique design eliminates having to choose between a highly complex receiver and the simple feedback or diode detector which will operate only in a few RF environments.
Wide Detection Ranges
Two Wireless Transmitter Detectors are available within the DAR series. One, the Model DAR-1, operates to receive signals over a frequency range from 50 KHz to 1300 MHz. Reception is fully linear over the range of the instrument with no "holes" in the spectrum. These "holes" are often present in the more common diode detectors, most feedback detectors, and scan-and-lock on "biggest signal" receivers, but have beeen completely eliminated the DAR series countermeasures receiver. The second unit in the series, the DAR-3 Extended Range Transmitter Detector, was developed to counter the growing concern over highly sophisticated devices transmitting in frequency ranges from 50 KHz out through the microwave bands to 12 GHz (12,000 MHz). In appearance, the DAR-3 is identical to the DAR-1.
In addition, the DAR comes with a unique mechanical multiplexing power line adapter which allows a full sweep of the power line to detect the presence of Carrieer Current transmitters. This essential technique IS NOT available on equipment form other manufacturers.
LevAlarm_Protects After The Sweep
Once the initial electronic sweep is completed in a sensitive meeting room or area, there is no assurance that a transmitting device has not been carried into the meeting, or that a hidden transmitter is not activated from a remote loacation. The unique LevAlarm feature of all DAR equipment solves this problem by allowing the operator to set an RF threshold into the receiver which is equal to the RF energy level in the area at the completion of the initial sweep. Any increase in the RF level will cause an indicator lamp to flash and a beep signal to be generated by the receiver. The beeper signal may be disabled by a panel switch if a silent alarm is preferable.
Rugged Travel Package
The instrument is supplied in a tough thermoplastic foam padded case which is equipped with a combination lock and covered in brown "leather look" vinyl. Space is provided for all accessories inside the case. In transit, DAR equipment looks identical to a piece of personal luggage and will fit under an airplane seat.
