The 2000 Series is a range of fixed site, optimum performance X-ray systems for screening extra-large cargo. System sizes range from air cargo pallets to truck loads as large as 4.5 meters high, 3.5 meters wide and 25.0 meters long, with a maximum weight of 60 tons. Cargo can be screened independently or while remaining loaded on a truck. This effectively counters the pathways for drugs, arms smuggling and fraud in cargo shipments at ports and border crossings. The X-ray scanning process is quick and efficient, hence expediting the movement of goods. The use of high-energy X-Ray systems has proven to be more effective than manual searches to rapidly compare contents with the manifest. It removes the possibility of breakage and pilferage associated with manual inspection. Manual searches are labor intensive, slow and unpopular with shippers. These large X-Ray scanners operate similar to Rapiscan’s 500 series, used to check aircraft passenger baggage. The cargo, still on a fully loaded truck, is carried through a fan shaped beam of high-energy X-rays that pass through the cargo and onto arrays of detectors. Excellent picture quality and maximum penetration expedites checking against manifest information and offers high throughput with the highest reliability
