Threat
Image Projection
The Rapiscan TIP system provides a reliable and
sophisticated method for the training and testing of X-ray screeners. This
software package randomly inserts fictional threat items (guns, bombs, and
knives) into the X-ray image of the actual item undergoing screening. This
process aids screeneralertness and threat recognition skills at the same
time as providingperformance data to management and regulatory
authorities.

TIP
Network
Rapiscan's Threat Image Projection Network
provides a centralized location for all system functionality. The system
uses a high-speed Ethernet™ network linking all TIP x-ray systems to a
supervisor station. Operator databases, testing configuration, system
maintenance andreport download functions are performed through the
supervisorstation. The system design eliminates the requirement to
manuallyconfigure each x-ray system; in addition, the software
automaticallyswitches to normal operation in the event of a network
failure.

Operator
Training Program
The OTP is a distinct feature loaded onto the
Rapiscan X-ray system. It is based on on our highly successful Threat
Image Projection system. Support responses, and threat identification, are
provided to assist in the learning process. Rapiscan's OTP provides
management personnel the benefit of conducting initial and on-going
training. It has the capability to be loaded onto a Rapiscan TIP trainer
system ineither stand alone or networked configurations to provide
multipleoperator workstations in classroom environment.

Target™
- Screener Assist Technology
Target™ is Rapiscan's marketing designate for
real-time explosive detection software, frequently refereed to as Screener
Assist Technology (SAT). The system uses preset software algorithms to
search baggage contents for targeted material. During the analysis process
the mass, size and weight of material(s) are examined; objects identified
as potential threats appear with a Magenta (purple) ellipse. The Target
optionincorporates a simplified Graphical User Interface, for ease of
operation;image archiving and software installation manuals are also
included.

Network
Display Stations
The Network Display System provides manual search
operators with precise information of all baggage contents, as well as the
highlighted location of suspicious items. Until now this information was
only available for reference at the x-ray machine. The Network Display
System transfers information via a high-speed Ethernet™ network to a
centralized location, where operators perform their manual search. This
solution allows a detailed search of all items identified via image
analysis or Trace Detection alarm. It also increases the throughput of
each x-ray system by eliminating the need to stop the conveyor flow. After
review of the image the operator may choose to print out (optional) the
image for reference or permanent record storage, images can also be
digitally archived for future review. The Network Display System can be
operated on the same network with other Rapiscan networking solutions.
